Focus to your destiny

I dedicate this work to the young minds and students in colleges, universities, and schools, whose potential and divine destinies I am deeply committed to seeing fulfilled By Rev. Huruma Nkone (PhD) Senior Pastor, Victory Christian Center Terbancle

Chapter 1

God did not create us in vain. He has a purpose for each one of us and this is an eternal purpose of which death or other troubles of the world have no effect. For Christians death is only a door that begins eternity. God in His word says that He knows you and has set His purposes before you were born. From the Bible, you can become conscious that there are many insights into God’s mind about his plans for us.

“For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

“For surely there is a latter end, a future and a reward, and your hope and expectations shall not be cut off.” Prov. 23:18

These are just few of many verses that tell God’s promises to fulfill the purpose in your life. It is important for you to Focus to your Destiny know the purpose of God in your life so that you live in it and not according to your own. The real purpose of God
in your life is using your life in accomplishing what He desires to achieve through your life. In this way you are not
supposed to give priority to your own purposes that you want to accomplish, rather you should give priority to the
purpose of God in you.Jesus himself lived in the world in order to accomplish the purpose of God the Father.
“And this is the will of Him Who sent Me, that I should not lose any of all that He has given Me, but that I should give new life and raise them up at the last day” John 6:39
God uses you to accomplish his purpose. This is different from you using Him to accomplish your own purpose. The
question that most Christians and other believers ask is, “How will I know God’s purpose in my life?” It might be
difficult even for you to know or you may have come across the same question revolving around your mind but the Bible
shows clearly the purpose of God in your life.

Know God’s Purpose in your Life: How God values you? In reality God values you a lot. The value of anything is
determined by the price one pays for.
“For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He gave up His only begotten Son, so that whoever believes in Him
will not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 You can now see how God loves you and the price He paid for you, His only “begotten (unique) son” to die just to save you. If God paid such a price for you how can He have appalling plans for you or even forget you? So, no matter who you are, you are God’s creation and He thought you
were worth of His Son’s death. “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd risks and lays down
His life for the sheep.” John 10:11 No one can pay a price for something which he has no use
or purpose for. Therefore by Jesus paying the price you can be sure that He has a purpose for you and your life is worth
living. Knowing all these you must have the courage to know that you are someone who is much worthy to God, He has
good plans to prosper you. “For those whom he foreknew, He also destined from the beginning
to be molded into the image of His son that He might become the first born among many brethren.” Rom. 8:29 One of the ways to direct you to the plans God has for you is through reading the word of God and believing in each and every promise mentioned. He declared your end before the beginning. You should stand firm in the promises of God, proclaiming them day by day. He has said that His word shall not return to Him in vain, this means that you are what the word says you are and you can do what it says you can do. Believe unto the promises of God as they are true and amen; for God is not the son of man that He should lie. “So shall My word be that goes forth from my mouth, it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish that which I pleased and purpose and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” Isa. 55:11

Be patient: Wait for God’s time

But the fruit of Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness faithfulness…” Gal. 5:22(
The path towards fulfilling God’s purpose may encounter a number of discouragements, troubles, temptations, rejections and other dreadful moments. Yet you should learn to stand strong knowing that God has good plans for you. Everything that happens in your life is for a reason be it good or bad. For example you may pass through difficult situations, but through those challenges God teaches you something or He prepares you towards your future. Also He can use that opportunity to increase your faith in Him.And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Rom. 8:28 Therefore in any situation be it hard or not, God works for good, and He has a purpose for each and every little thing which is happening in your life. “All things” refer to all your sufferings, trials, persecutions and calamities to which you are exposed to. The “good” God is after is not only health, wealth and happiness but Christ likeness. The Lord works out everything to his proper end.” Prov. 16:4 You need to be patient for the path toward your journey may
not be easy. Trust in God with all your heart knowing that all things you are passing through are for your own good and to prepare you for your cause. God didn’t create you to suffer, though troubles and other discouragements are
inevitable in life. One thing that can help you is to believe in Him.
God is in control of every situation going on in your life and He doesn’t have a vacation. God is constantly at work in your life. He arranges everything in your favor. It is up to you to believe in Him. He said, He is effectively at work to
those who believe. Here faith becomes a very important connecting factor towards fulfilling the purpose of God in your life. You must bear in mind that no matter how hard the situation is, be it your studies, finances, relationships, marriage or any aspect of your life God is with you and He can take control of that situation. The Lord says behold He is the Lord, the God of all
flesh, is there anything too hard for Him? Jeremiah 32:27. He encourages you that He is beside you in every situation
you are passing through. “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.” Isaiah 41:10. He says He will strengthen you and help you He will uphold you with His righteous right hand. So in any tribulation consult and trust in Him and He will help you accordingly. “The Lord comforts us in all our tribulation.” 2 Corinthians 1:4
